Just outside Bath, in a breathtaking location; Pear Tree Cottage offers the best of both worlds; from stunning rolling countryside to all that the Roman City of Bath has to offer. Charming Cotswold villages are scattered all around. Set on a beautiful private estate, our 17th century stone cottage has been renovated to a very high standard, beautifully decorated with artefacts from around the world and filled with everything you could need for a wonderful stay.
There are stunning views all around and we’re surrounded by miles of seemingly unending countryside, yet within easy reach of many splendid pubs and restaurants in the area. Lucknam Park is an 8 minute drive for a special meal and The White Hart is a 10 minute drive if you fancy something quicker. On days when you don't want to visit nearby Bath, there are numerous great pubs, restaurants & shops in the nearby town of Corsham (20 minutes) and the beautiful surrounding villages each have their own offerings of great food, drink and places to see. A car is needed for getting into Bath and surrounding villages but opportunities for walking all around here are a plenty. The nearest pub is a 30 minute walk away.
Guests will have access to the whole cottage, which is self-contained. To the front is a large garden to relax in - with incredible views across the Box valley. You can take a short walk to the lake and take a dip if you’re feeling brave! A working log burner (logs supplied), cosy bath robes and REN products are all here to make our guests as cosy and comfortable as possible.
Minimum 3 night stay.
We had such a wonderful time at the cottage. The location couldn't be more idyllic!! You really feel you are in the heart of the countryside and the views are just stunning from the garden - but you are only a few minutes from Chippenham. The photos don't do this spot justice. There is a lovely lake minutes from the house (you walk out of the front door and are immediately on the track that leads you to it) where Bob the goose lives. He is very friendly (as long as you aren't a heron!) and en route to the lake you pass the sweetest bunch of free range pigs. They really enjoy being stroked. I could honestly have stayed another week! The cottage has all you could need and is prettily furnished. Kate and Andy (who met us and showed us around) were both very helpful. - Alex & Angela
Such an idyllic setting with beautiful views out over the valley, we had a lovely weekend in the cottage. Evidently a lot of love has gone into making the interior homely and welcoming - a peaceful place to get away to. Well equipped and really easy with the key access system also, very well organised. Hope to return at some point. Thank you! - Katie
A perfect stay, and the friendliest host ever. It's a very special place. - Morgana
